Chicago!
Well, the roadtrip is underway! I left GA June 26 and made my way to Lynchburg, VA, and then to Chicago. It was so great to visit with Abe and Desiree and enjoy their awesome city. Currently I'm in Denver. I spent the afternoon walking around downtown- so beautiful. There is a cute little walking path by Cherry Creek and great views of the mountains. I hope to head out to Pike's Peak tomorrow. Extra bonus- I get to see Abe and Des here on Friday! Can't wait to see the rest of you! :)

Roadtrip
Hey yo!
So. Some BIG changes going on in my life at the moment. I'm preparing to leave VA and, as I have a bit of down time before my next big adventure, am going to make this summer into an American expedition. There will be several legs to this journey- GA and FL are of course on the list (for June). The next leg of the journey will take me to the west coast. I'll be driving with my dear friend, Alese, to San Diego via Nashville, Kansas City?, Denver, and the Grand Canyon. Any tips or random stops along the way would be much appreciated. I know I can always count on an adventuresome family for some good advice :) We'll be visiting some friends in San Diego over the 4th of July (any chance Abe and Des will be there?) and then Alese will probably fly back East. The next part of the journey is still pretty fluid. I'm hoping for some input. The plan is to eventually make it up to Great Falls (via Salt Lake) for the rest of the summer. It would be great to find some sort of job up there- any thoughts? I would also love to make it to Portland too! Please give me any thoughts/input you guys have! It would be great to coordinate seeing all of you in there somehow :) lovelovelove

Family Reunion 2010
The Goetz's down in GA are wondering if you all are up for another reunion this summer! We are thinking about going to MT this summer and are wondering if the Moores are having a reunion too. If so, maybe we can coordinate like we did last time so everyone can make it. Miss you all!

QUICK SHOUT FROM CHICAGO
Hey everyone, check out this distinguished looking fellow I found on the internet talking about his days in the Korean War. I haven't been able to make the video work yet, but will try it on my home computer later. Very cool, Papa.
Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend in San Diego. Get ready to dance your socks off!

Goetz Together 2008
We had a fantastic time at the Goetz Together at Kit's house on Friday! It was great to see everyone (except Thad, who was missed) and for Desiree to get to meet Mark and Scott's families. Joy and Charity - thanks for teaching us that hilarious game. Very fun. Hopefully we will see you all in October in San Diego!

Can't wait!
We (Sabina and I) are so excited to see the family next weekend! Yeah! Peter will have to miss this year as he can hardly breathe he has sooo much work to do on his book, doctorate, etc. before the highly anticipated graduation day of August 29th!
This summer we have been blessed with a visit from Oma Ann and Opa John around the 4th of July and a fantastic trip to San Diego for Desirees bridal shower - which was delightfully fun and included meeting her amazing-welcoming-sweet family, meeting Piper (she is so perfect!), and hanging by the pool with my mama and Maurika in the beautiful California sun. The Dragontree had a 5 year birthday party that was a huge success and the Clearing Cafe is getting busier every day and expanding our menu!
I can't wait to see everyone.
love

FAMILY PICNIC
Plans are being made! Scott's family chose July 27 - Sunday - to be best for them. So the WHEN is selected. We know the WHY, so only the Where and How are to be decided. What are your ideas? This is the "first" for me but I know most of you are well experienced in this field. Hannah - are you sure you can't come????????? You're going to have to come up with an exceptional reason for making us all really miss your family.
Dreams coming true, Joy - thanks!

Philpots
Thought you might enjoy this little video of Kaitlyn. Putting these together is my new favorite pasttime. Now I just have nine years of videos to edit.
A quick update on the Philpots: Carter is nearing the end of his soccer and baseball season. It has been a lot of running around to different games and practices but he would do nothing but sports 24/7 if he had the chance. Mikayla and Kesiah are rounding out their dance class with a recital in June. Kaitlyn is just cruising around, constantly the source of smiles in our house. Jerry is busy with the golf course that is again open and taking the kids on weekly fishing expeditions. I recently got to read a great book, which caused me to neglect everything else in life for a good 48 hours and Carter to say, "It's like you love that book more than your own children!" He vowed to never buy me a book for Mother's Day again. Ah, but a couple times a year, a good book is one of my favorite indulgences. ("Twilight" series, ladies, you'll love it!) Other than that, I hope everyone is well in their neck of the woods, love reading updates and am dying to see everybody at Abe's wedding. Love, Hannah

Family Picnic
Ok everyone - Joy got the ball rolling on a family picnic for the Goetzes this summer, and because it's such a great idea I'm going to keep rolling that ball!
Some of the Moore kids are going to make it to Montana on July 26th for a Moore family get together, so if we schedule the Goetz get together (the Goetz together?) for July 27th, we could kill two birds with one shell. Kit has graciously offered to host everyone at her place in Missoula. I believe Nana also offered to host in Great Falls. So, what does everyone think about this?
Note: Desiree and I are getting married in San Diego on October 25th. If folks would rather just get together in San Diego, that would be great, too.

Sabooboo
life in portland is rockin on. busy as usual. peter is working away at his doctoral program - he will be graduating in August (yeah!), writing a book for his thesis, and keeping a full patient load. sabina is eating, growing, smiling, laughing, and sleeping - along with being the light of our lives (which is a huge responsibility). she is maintaining eyes like her grandpa - brilliant blue dazzlers. i am running our 2 businesses, taking care of the lovely sabina, and taking care of our home (though that one slips pretty regularly :) ). today was sabinas first swimming pool experience - we went to a great community center here with a big water slide and fun water works! sabina definitely took it all in. we are looking forward to a jaunt to Chicago at the end of April - it will be sabinas first real trip! fun! hope that you are all enjoying this lovely Easter Sunday.

Believe it or Not!
Dr. Warr (oncologist) said: "If I didn't know you and just had these lab results I'd say , there is nothing wrong with you!" That was just 3 weeks after the first round of chemo! I'm shaking my head and wondering if I just woke from a bad nightmare! He is at the office every day, walking Max for longer and longer periods, eating with an appetite, rosy cheeks and happy.
He is still scheduled for chemo again in a week. If the blood reports are as good as yesterday he may not have to complete the full series.
This is a reminder of something I've always known but sometimes fail to practice: the futility of worry - and the blessings of prayer.

Kit's Birthday
Kit just helped us get to this point of being able to contribute. We have LOVED the Blog! It's such a wonderful way to stay closer to everyone. I'll post pictures soon (Kit will have to help). I'm sure you're all wanting to know the facts about the Captain of this boat. He has lymphocytic leukemia. He started chemotherapy this Monday - 3 consecutive days every four weeks for 4 months. Except for a ten minute episode Monday when he had a reaction to the meds, the treatment has been uneventful. There is 60% - 80% chance of remission. So the odds are great and so far the treatment is going well. He is planning to go fishing in Alaska this August and hunting next fall. We thank you for your prayers. Looking forward to visiting you - same time tomorow! What a wonderful family!!!!!!!

No Video Games for Pre-Modern Men
Last May, Jake and his opponent were the main event in the Butte Brawl 5 mixed martial arts competition. Both competitors were heavy weights at 215 lbs. Jake is the taller one in the borrowed black shorts.
Like the sport of baseball, the beauty of mixed martial arts is often unappreciated by the untrained observer. For a second by second explanation of strategies and tactics of this bout, give me a call. I think I have all three minutes and 20 seconds memorized.

The Philpots
How cool to see updates on all the Goetz's! Life here in Utah is going well. We have FOUR kids now (tied with Rika); Mikayla is 8, Carter almost 6, Kesiah almost 4, and Kaitlyn just turned one. Jerry has a pretty sweet gig with Salt Lake City and is home three days a week which we LOVE. I work one day a week for Kit's company, Hospice For Utah, which is also a great gig. Life is pretty much a constant stream of busy which I am learning to appreciate more every day. We've got it pretty good. Posting some recent pics, a few from our awesome vacation to Mexico with Kit and Greg. Now with seeing updates on everybody, I think I should pose the idea of a family reunion, yes? Just a thought but it would sure be fun to see everyone. Lotsa love, Hannah

up to speed with maurika and family
I love this site, soo glad to see everyone and learn about what you are up to! Wow! I feel (ok, felt) so out of touch!
Here's our family update in pictures...First: when we moved into our new home in Missoula in April last year Second: Bridger (10 yrs old), Truman (20 months old), and Mark (should we mention his age?) in the tub - my favorite boys. Third: Piper is born! Jan 12th 2008 Amazing home birth, we felt so fortunate to have so many loved ones around. Fourth: Rileigh and Bridger on her 13th Birthday - can you even believe it?!? and Fifth: Piper at 4 weeks.
Update in words...a few. Rileigh is in 7th grade, loves ballet and her cell phone (text messages faster than the weather changes here in Montana) Bridger is in 4th grade, he's in gymnastics but is thinking of returning to martial arts, and is our expert in all video gaming systems. Truman is home with me of course, throws anything and everything he can get ahold of (QB maybe???), runs amuck, and is learning new words everyday. Piper is a beautiful, wide eyed baby - eats well and is learning how to sleep during the night (see my optimism here...) Mark is working for AEI, a dental tool manufacturer, as the national sales manager - where he is making a huge impact - travels a lot, and still manages to be a great dad and husband. Me, well I'm home with the rug rats - well the smaller two anyway. I'm the happiest taxi, chef, midnight nanny, housecleaner, therapist, tutor, scheduler, doctor, home ceo mom there is. OH! And I'm also starting my own business...more on that when the website launches! Love you all! Maurika
